The day was scheduled for a Ken Phillips Trophy F3F event but with winds gusting to almost 70 mph we sat it out for most of the morning. After a while the gusts started becoming less severe and the chaps who'd stayed on were rewarded with conditions that got smoother and smoother.
As I was packing to go I spent a while watching Mike Young fly a couple of 35s. His style is very neat indeed and he's learning with every run - one to watch for sure. Combined with Shane Biddlecombe and Andrzej Tabero I think the Welsh team are set to surprise a few people at the Viking Race.
