Five rounds flown on Mickey's slope (SW). The wind started off fickle until half way through round 1 when it died altogether for 28 minutes only to return much stronger to wreck the times of those in the first half of the flying order. I was the last pilot to fly before the break and had to thermal up from the bottom after a blistering 73! First flights after the break were in the 50s. Still, at least half of us got our discard out of the way early!
Anyway, Dave Woods made it another Elita win, this time with a x tail. Ken flew his NYX into second and John took his WR into third. I used my modified Viking to get fourth, which made me top of the pile of the pilots who trashed round 1.
Had some great fun afterwards in good air playing with the Viking and Greg's new RaceM. The Viking has impressed me so far. I don't want to give away too much as I'm doing a full review, but I can definitely see this plane winning races. Greg's RaceM is fun too - it handles well and is very sprightly. Don't be put off by Greg's 10th place, the scores are pretty tight and he didn't get the best of air.
