BMFA League Reserve

The final BMFA League F3F of the year was up at the Hole of Horcum. The forecast was dreadful but we only ended up with a couple of light showers and seven rounds. The conditions were again variable but managing to get seven rounds shows the value of having a manageable entry list.

A couple of memories stand out. Great curry the night before with Mike S and Andrzej. I managed to semi flick the Skorpion for the first time. In mitigation there was some weird air around and I think any plane I'd been flying would have let go. John B did the same thing with the Acacia but did a proper job and bent the old dear. Not often you see Blobby walking up the hill with a broken plane. He was well in contention until then - shame.

David Reid came down from the west coast of Scotland and flew superbly in his first BMFA event. Definitely one to watch if he can brave the journey again. Good to see Dave Wright and Tony Fu again, it had been far to long. In fact Dave's good finish meant four Skorpions in the top seven, I've not seen that sort of dominance for many years.

More on the outcome of the league very soon.

A few photos are below but I wouldn't get too excited, it wasn't great snapshot weather.
