What a smashing day. Bit nippy, but a decent 20 mph or so straight up the Wrecker. There was a fair bit of thermal activity which gave most pilots a share of the good stuff. With 15 pilots and the walk to land on the Wrecker we decided to fly two rounds at a time. We all knew this would be likely to increase the luck element in the thermic conditions but it made the day so much easier, and it was only a bit of fun anyway.
The full results spreadsheet is here. Highlights were Shane Biddlecomb getting a 35.66 with a cut and scooting straight back around to his next round to use the same air and get a 32.25 - nice one Shane!
There were a couple of mishaps in the bumpy conditions. Mike Evans managed to break the noses off his Elita and Wizard. Ian Mason had what was probably battery failure in the cold conditions and watched his clipped wing Acacia 3 come in from a great height. We couldn't make a cast iron diagnosis because the battery pack was smashed to bits.
I had a great time in all but the back to back rounds where I copped for the rubbish. The other four round of 34.15, 34.69, 37.66 and 38.32 were a blast.
Thanks to Andrzej for once again doing all the work.
